What’s Brewing in This Episode

What happens when someone you love chooses a path you don’t understand?

For many families, friendships, and communities, beliefs are part of what holds people together. But what happens when those beliefs change? Can curiosity survive where certainty once lived? Can connection remain when our understanding of the world no longer looks the same?

In this conversation, Andrea sits down with Hana O’Neill, known as The Suburban Witch. Raised in a strict Pentecostal church, Hana believed she would one day become a preacher. Instead, a series of experiences led her to question everything she had been taught. After leaving the church and being shunned by the community she once called home, she began a search that eventually led her to witchcraft and alternative spirituality.

Together, Andrea and Hana explore spiritual exploration, family relationships, misunderstanding, and the courage it takes to remain open to people whose beliefs differ from our own.

This is not a conversation about convincing anyone to change their mind.

It is a conversation about understanding.

Brew the Change

Invite someone whose spiritual path or worldview differs from yours to share chocolate and coffee with you.

Sit together with curiosity and kindness. Not to persuade. Not to prove a point. Not to work out who is right and who is wrong. Simply to listen and to understand.

Every belief has a story behind it. It is shaped by experiences, questions, relationships, disappointments, hopes, and moments that leave a mark on us. Long before someone arrives at a belief, they have lived a life.

Notice what happens when you become curious about the person behind the belief.

You may not agree with everything they think. They may not agree with you. That is not the goal.

The goal is connection.

Because when we take the time to understand another person’s story, we often discover that what unites us is far greater than what divides us.
